Howard Sutcliffe holds a Post-graduate Diploma in textile conservation from the Textile Conservation Centre (TCC)/Courtauld Institute of Art and an MA in Museum and Gallery Management from City University, London. Since graduating from the TCC he has held positions at National Museums Liverpool, the American Textile History Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the National Trust Textile Conservation Studio. Howard currently serves as the Textile Conservator at the Detroit Institute of Arts and is principal conservator of River Region Costume and Textile Conservation, a private practice based in Detroit, MI and Montgomery, AL.
